Welcome to...

"Old 30" was among the first US highways planned in 1926, and provided a route from coast to coast through the upper section of the country. It was one of the main routes into the intermountain west and pacific northwest for people from the east, and was a major transportation corridor for goods coming from the manufacturing centers of the country. It generally followed the route of the Oregon Trail and many parts of the road were marked as the "Old Oregon Trail Highway" in the pre-US Route auto trail era. The route crosses some beautiful scenery and goes by many points of interest, such as the Columbia River gorge in Oregon, the Snake River canyon, Thousand Springs, and Soda Springs in Idaho.
