Lap Steel Guitar

Do you want to be able to play gigs in both honky tonks and Bikini Bottom? If so, the Lap Steel Guitar is the instrument for you!

More Guitar info coming soon

Specs:
Body: Pine 2x4 from my shed.
Pickup: Generic P-90 "soap bar"-look pickup from eBay.
Strings: Southbound String Co. "Nashville C6" set. Bought from Amazon.
Tuners: Random ones from Amazon. Not great but they get the job done and stay in tune pretty well.

This guitar cost less than $35 USD (at 2020 prices) to build and was constructed with no specialized tools. Construction took a few hours (including dry times) and required an electric drill, metal file, screwdriver, and soldering iron. Depending on your wood situation and skills, you may need access to a rotary saw and a can of wood putty. Paint, or wood stain and some kind of varnish (I used shellac) aren't necessary but make your instrument more durable and better looking. You could buy a kit, but I like making things from random parts and starting from scratch.

I'm working on making a building guide for this thing if you want to make your own. I followed a guide I saw online but it had some things I think could be improved.
