1963 Rambler American

My first car, and hopefully one I will have for a very long time. It was pulled out of a farmer's field near my town and I saw it on craigslist one day when I was 14. I Pestered my parents for days about it, and finally they let me check it out. I figured by the time we got it fixed, I would have a driver's license. We ended up getting it for $500, which I thought was a steal but kinda wasn't. It needed a LOT of work. I love this car though. It's kind of weird, like me. And I've put so much work into it that I have a strong attatchment to it.

Things that needed to be fixed:

Piston rings (burned a quart of oil every 25 miles, the inside of this engine was a disaster)
Interior (Was covered in dead mouse remnants)
Parking Brake (The cable broke when I pulled it)
Brakes (This sucked. Find someone who knows what they're doing to help the first time you work on drum brakes)
Overheating issues - This car ran hot every single time I drove it when the temperature was over 80 degrees. Boiled over on the highway once. We finally powerwashed the water jacket and some scary crap came out. That solved most of the issue.
Camshaft - I replaced the stock distributor with a "rebuilt" one that seized and ate the drive gear on the cam. So that was fun. Replaced the cam with a slightly higher performance one and got a properly rebuilt distributor as well. This completely solved the overheating problem.
