Welcome to...
Cars (And maybe other vehicles)
I love pretty much all kinds of transport and like to learn how they work, but here in the US of A the dominant mode of transport is, of course, the automobile. A car-sphere internet personality once said "Life is too short to drive boring cars" and I totally agree. If you're into it, you gotta stand out on the road somehow. Below is some info on my ride and some of my future transportation-based goals.
1963 Rambler American
My first car, and hopefully one I will have for a very long time. It was pulled out of a farmer's field near my town and I saw it on craigslist one day when I was 14. I Pestered my parents for days about it, and finally they let me check it out. I figured by the time we got it fixed, I would have a driver's license. We ended up getting it for $500, which I thought was a steal but kinda wasn't. It needed a LOT of work. I love this car though. It's kind of weird, like me. And I've put so much work into it that I have a strong attatchment to it. Things that needed to be fixed: Piston rings (burned a quart of oil every 25 miles, the inside of this engine was a disaster)
Now, what I'm sure you've been waiting for... PICTURES! In the interest of keeping this page small and light, I have only posted these two photos. If you would like to see more let me know and I can upload them! If you happen to be a fellow Rambler American owner, please let me know! I would love to connect with some other AMC nerds. I have also reproduced (with 3D pritning, isn't the future cool!) several hard to find parts such as badges, emblems, trim clips, etc. if you are interested in those. Since they're homemade, I'll probably just send them for free. |
